About The Mama
I’m a 30 year old mama living in Las Vegas. I was born and raised in Southern California, lived in Northern California for about 8 years, came back to Southern California, then finally relocated to Las Vegas. I have my degree in Early Childhood Development and worked in the childcare field for over 10 years. In 2016, I went vegan and haven’t looked back. It’s honestly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I love all things Disney and Disneyland. My husband and I have passes that expire this year (2018), although we don’t plan on renewing for quite some time due to the new baby!
Road To Becoming A Mama
In 2015, I started the process of becoming a foster parent with the goal of adopting. I had the nursery and everything set up and was ready to go! But life had other plans. In May 2016, my now husband and I found out we were pregnant. Since we had only been together for a month at that point, we were super nervous. Once we came around, we were so excited. However, at our first appointment we found out that I had a blighted ovum. We decided that we did want to try for a baby since we were so excited.
In January 2017, we found out we were pregnant again! We had an ultrasound and got to see the little baby and we were so excited since we hadn’t made it that far the last time. We even told our families and everything. Then at our next appointment, we found out baby had stopped growing just a few days after that first ultrasound. We were devastated but we wanted to try one more time!
In May, we saw an endocrinologist who ran some tests and told me that I had low ovarian reserve and that the chances of me conceiving naturally and carrying to term would be slim. He did put me on DHEA and folic acid to try and help though. Once we got settled in Las Vegas, we decided to go to a fertility clinic. On September 25, we had our first appointment. All we had to do was wait for Aunt Flo to come and we could start testing. Luckily, she was due less than a week later. However, she never showed so I decided to take a test and it was POSITIVE! Baby boy (LJ) was born June 2, 2018. You can read all about that in my birth story part 1 and part 2!
The Guy Behind It All
My husband (Sean) is my best friend and he’s made me the happiest girl in the world. We met when he was 13 and I was 11 on AOL. We decided to meet in person for the first time in April 2016. He came to visit me from Chicago and we hit it off. We have not been apart for more than a week since he came out. We got engaged in July 2016 at Disneyland. On April 15, 2018, we got married!
